What UX projects should I add into my portfolio to land a job?
What types of projects should I add to my portfolio to stand out? Through this video, the author gives us 3 examples of typical projects that might be interesting to add to your portfolio.
Here are the key points:
If you want to differentiate yourself, show it through solving a complex project. The goal here is to demonstrate your ability to tackle a complex project and translate it into a truly relevant user experience.
Do more research projects. Needless to say, research is the basis for creating your solution. So it's worthwhile, as a UX designer, to take a closer look at this. Whether it's a concept project or not, demonstrating your ability to conduct research will make your portfolio stand out.
Finally, it is also important, when applying, to submit relevant projects related to the company you are targeting. Put yourself in the recruiter's shoes, they have an idea of the typical portfolio they are looking for and want to know if you can adapt to their projects. Your case study should therefore show that you have experience in the field, that you know how to solve this type of problem, that through this project your skills that they are looking for are highlighted etc.
Another tip: before starting another project, ask yourself if it adds value to your portfolio. For example, if you are targeting a specific type of company, take a step back and ask yourself what types of projects they need to see?
Finally, keep in mind that your portfolio is not the ultimate goal. It should evolve and grow as you learn.

A concept explained βοΈ
How to pick the right user research methods?
We really like this brilliant article from NN group. It has helped us tremendously through our projects. It's simple, if you don't really know which search methods to choose, a mapping of the 20 search methods is here to guide you.
We won't go into detail explaining all the methods, but keep in mind these important concepts:
The Attitudinal vs. Behavioral Dimension
This distinction can also be translated as: "what people say" vs. "what people do.".
Attitudinal research focuses on measuring people's stated beliefs and opinions, but it is limited by what people are aware of and willing to report.
On the other hand, methods that focus on behavior seek to understand how people interact with a product or service.
The Qualitative vs. Quantitative Dimension
The difference between qualitative and quantitative research methods lies in the way they collect data on behaviors or attitudes.
Qualitative studies collect data by directly observing or hearing about behaviors or attitudes, while quantitative studies collect data indirectly, such as through surveys or analysis tools.
Qualitative methods are better for answering questions about why or how to fix a problem.
Quantitative methods, on the other hand, are better for answering βhow manyβ or βhow muchβ types of questions.
The article further details how to choose the right research method and a point to consider is also the phase of product development and its associated objectives.
